It's a wonderful accessory to store all her precious and interesting discoveries. I find it very cute to see my little hoarder carrying it around with her as she traipses all about the house and the park.

How to Make a Paper Plate Toddler Pouch

  • Gather these simple art and craft materials: 2 paper plates, scissors, stapler, ribbon and decorative stickers
  • Cut 1 paper plate into half
  • Hold the halved paper plate against the other full paper plate, with the perimeters flat against each other to form a pouch
  • Staple the paper plates together
  • I stapled the ribbon to the paper plates (because I don't own a hole-puncher πŸ˜‚) but you could punch two holes on the top of the full paper plate to form the handle if you have one
  • Decorate the pouch with stickers, markers or crayons. You can engage your little helper in this art and craft activity
  • Hang the pouch over your child's shoulder or around her neck

And now your little one has a personal belonging to call her own!

Caution: Parental supervision is needed when your child is wearing the pouch because there is a risk of strangulation with a long ribbon handle.

The Best Toddler Pouch Ideas and Tips

  • For a taller, pretty paper plate pouch that is Valentine Day themed, here's a tutorial from Crafty Morning. Older children can help to punch holes and thread yarn through the holes in the making of this bag, which refines their motor skills.
